Nelson Elliott started BlogExec to meet the needs of bloggers who wanted to make money on their writing, but preferred to spend their time writing and connecting with their readers instead of managing advertising.
The idea can largely be credited to one of Nelson's close friends and BlogExec's first blogger, Richard Moyer. As Richard's blog, Shades of Thomas Paine, grew, Richard realized he was leaving money on the table by not monetizing it. As a busy engineering professional, however, he didn't want to waste time learning the ins and outs of online advertising.
As an experienced business manager and online advertiser, Nelson agreed to help and set about building a platform to offer outsourced management services to other bloggers.
Nelson holds a bachelor's degree in marketing and an MBA. He has previously managed a network administration company and large online advertising budgets for as many as several hundred web properties.
